Play-off for third and fourth place will be on pitch two starting at 2.15pm and the final will commence at 3pm on pitch one. The High Sheriffs' and Humberside Police Tribune Trust is a small local charity covering the Humberside Police area with the aims to improve the quality of life in the region and create a positive image for business and residential communities. Its members include current, former and future High Sheriffs of the East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, the Chief Constable,Chief Fire and Rescue Officer and senior business people. Its Director, Geoff Ogden, is a former Head of CID.
Much of the work of the Trust involves supporting financially small community projects to reduce crime, its causes and involve young people in positive activities. During 2006/7 the Trust supported 15 projects financially with donations of £51,562 but this released an additional £1.9 million from other local and national funds. In the year 2007/8 the Trust has supported 22 projects , the highest in its history. They included outward bound activities, literacy, victim support and educational visits for young people on the fringe of society. In additional to financial assistance other support is provided by the director and trustees to projects on drug strategies, safeguarding children, annual report format and developing business plans. Sport features strongly in all the work of the Tribune Trust, hence the sponsorship of this Cricket Tournament by Mr Rodger Booth,DL, former High Sheriff and trustee and President of the Hull Zingari Cricket Club and he will present the prizes on the day. Since 2004 over £20,000 has ben distributed through the Tribune Trust to cricket clubs and organisations including Goole Town, Beverley, Hornsea, Bridlington, Fenner, Londesborough Park, Driffield, Cottingham, Sutton, Welton and Brough and Hull Zingari CC junior sections, the East Riding Cricket Umpires and Scorers Associaton and the East Yorkshire Junior Cricket League.
